Inconvenience Claims

In the event that you experience some hardship due to the delay of delivery of your household goods shipment, the Carrier, when responsible, is required to pay for any out-of-pocket expenses directly associated with the delay in delivery. Those out-of-pocket expenses are all expenses incurred by you or an immediate family member relative to the establishment of your household and life’s daily necessities. Those expenses include, but are not limited to, lodging, meals, towels (2 per person), pots, pans, paper plates, napkins, plastic cups and utensils. If we purchase any tangible household items, we may reclaim said items upon delivery of your shipment. Reimbursement for alcoholic beverages or pet care is prohibited and all claims must be reasonable and relate directly to easing family hardship.

All inconvenience expenditures must be substantiated by receipt/s and the Carrier will acknowledge receipt of an inconvenience claim filed by you within 15 days from the date of receipt. We, as the Carrier, will make a settlement offer for our accepted liability within 30 days from said receipt of your claim.

Please be aware that the Carrier will not be responsible for payment of inconvenience claims if: (a) the shipment was placed in storage in transit (SIT) at destination; (b) if the delay was caused by an act of God; (c) acts of public enemy, government, public authority, violent strikes, mob interference (d) delays of shipments caused by the government in which no Carrier negligence took place.
