We all know the difficulty of trying to contact a military member or civilian during a move.  It seems as if the phone numbers that had been provided to the carrier and agents are no longer in service, or the e-mail addresses are invalid.  The Air Force has recently instituted a program that will enable members to be reached at both origin and destination locations.   The new program is known as email-for-life (E4L).  Under this program, every Air Force user (active-duty, Guard, Reserve, civilian, or contractor) will be assigned an email account.  The email address will consist of the person’s legal first and last name (i.e. firstname.lastname@us.af.mil).  This email is unique for each individual and never changes.  It follows the member to every base assignment they may have.  For more information in regards to this program, visit https://imp.afds.af.mil/e4ls. You will find a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section that can help answer most of your questions.

Text Box: Carlyle Van Lines Move Management department plays a vital role in day to day operations. Move coordinators are responsible for maintaining constant contact with each shipper and acting as a liaison between agent, shipper, driver and base from date of registration to the actual delivery. This may include, but is not limited to the following: verifying addresses, contact numbers, interface with releasing and receiving agents on packing, loading, delivery, and unpacking, as well as obtaining GBL corrections. Maintaining this type of customer service is essential to each shipment. It allows our move management team to identify any potential problems in a shipment and hopefully defuse them as soon as possible to make each move run as smoothly as possible.
The second position within our Move Management department is the driver coordinator. These individuals keep in contact with our drivers. They are responsible for communications in regards to pickup, problems that might occur while the driver is underway, and delivery to either residence or SIT. They track the day to day movement of all shipments serviced by Carlyle Van Lines.
This summer, even with reduced tonnage, proved to be another busy season for our dedicated team. Thank you to each of you as origin and destination agents for helping us obtain pre-move survey data, providing APU’s when needed, status on shipments in SIT or being delivered out, and timeliness of paperwork provided to our office. During the busy part of the summer, our Move Management team has serviced over 2,900 shipments with your help.
